Necessary and sufficient conditions for stability on finite time horizon
Control theory is often interested in studying stability and stabilization of dynamical systems in an infinite time horizon. However, in many practical situations, focusing on the system behavior in a finite time interval is more important than requiring the system to reach a given equilibrium. Analysis on finite time horizon can be useful, for example, to study state and output transients due ...
متن کاملNecessary and Sufficient Conditions for Finite-Time Stability of Linear Systems
When dealing with the stability of a system, a distinction should be made between classical Lyupunoz) Stabili t y and Fznite-Tz7ne Stability (FTS) (or short-time stability). The concept of Lyapunov Asymptotic Stability is largely known to the control community; conversely a system is said to be finite-time stable if, once we fix a time-interval, its state does not exceed some bounds during this...
متن کاملNecessary and Sufficient Conditions for H-∞ Static Output-Feedback Control
Necessary and sufficient conditions are presented for static output-feedback control of linear time-invariant systems using the H∞ approach. Simplified conditions are derived which only require the solution of two coupled matrix design equations. It is shown that the static output-feedback H∞ solution does not generally yield a welldefined saddle point for the zero-sum differential game; condit...

Throughout this paper, for each continuous function φ : [0, t0]T 7→ R there exists at least one continuous function x(t) = x(t, t0, φ) on an interval [t0, a]T such that it satisfies (2) for t ∈ [t0, a]...
متن کاملNecessary and Sufficient Conditions for Stability of LMS
In a recent work [7], some general results on exponential stability of random linear equations are established which can be applied directly to the performance analysis of a wide class of adaptive algorithms, including the basic LMS ones, without requiring stationarity, independency, and boundedness assumptions of the system signals. The current paper attempts to give a complete characterizatio...
